A little known amendment is tucked inside the highly-debated Senate immigration bill (which stalled last night) seeks to prevent you from obtaining a job, keep you standing in line longer at DMV and potentially threaten your privacy.

Not to mention, this provision is linked to Real ID and would really would be the on-ramp (please pardon this trite phrase used by privacy extremists) to a national ID.

The AAMVA membership is quite cool to this amendment.  And Deb Hillmer, chair, AAMVA Board of Directors, has said as much.  It's worth a read.
