Hi..this is Ted Ford, author of "America's Funniest License Plates". Thank you, Mary, for your kind comments on the book. Yes, some plates in my book have some interesting connotations, further evidence that sometimes the DMV personnel may have been "speed reading"..lol<br /><br />There are videos featuring the book, see youtube.com, type in "videosdoneright" and look for the 2 videos labeled "AMERICA'S FUNNIEST". The book was quite an adventure, thanks to many creative plate owners. That's who should get a ton of credit !<br /><br />Ted

He should read the book "America's Funniest License Plates" by Ted Ford. It is filled with funny and thoughtful plates. Some should never have been approved, too. When I see the questionable ones I think that the DMV folks are just not up on the newest pop slang or internet slang so they let it slip though.

What's the benefit? applying through a DMV office if the application will be LOST plus having only one way to talk to a tech that's not responsible for accepting an application by simply saying a did received but on next day say No I did not received.Having this kind offices OUR state does not justified that tax money is well spend-ed specially where highest amounts of revenues are receivable from small business that are affected economically

"I Believe" doesn't seem like it would be a totally religious statement - one could believe in a lot of things in addition to Jesus Christ or whomever you would want to declare as your own personal "all-knowing one" or whatever you would declare as your passion - say racing in SC or the Sooners in Okieland. It would be fun to debate the ACLU on this one.

I humbly take issue with the posit that elderly drivers are among the safest. Driving depends on vision, attention, reactions, and even strength. No reasonable person claims these traits do not deteriorate with age. For much of our lives, we can use gains in judgeement and experience to offset losses in our phyiscal attributes, but this equation will eventually catch up to us all. I'd like to see any study on drivers over 70 that doesn't reflect an increase in accidents per mile of driving. And that would disregard the accidents caused by, but not directly involving, those drivers. On highways, accidents are a function of "turbulence" - and the best example of that is the left-lane "K" car driving at a steady 50 mph. Look inside, ten to one the dirver is AARP-ellegeble.
